Jonathan

serves as the Government Relations Director for the Texas Water Development Board, bringing more than two decades of public service and legislative experience to the role. His career in the Texas Legislature began as a Capitol Tour Guide and culminated as Chief of Staff to Senator Drew Springer. He has helped modernize contracting for state water projects, strengthen water safety and delivery in rural areas, and update sections of the Texas Water Code to streamline operations across utility districts.

Earlier in his career, Jonathan served as Committee Director of Higher Education under Chairman Dan Branch, where he supported major reforms that improved college readiness, expanded dual-credit access, streamlined credit transfer between institutions, and strengthened accountability across Texas universities. A former Associate Professor of Government at Austin Community College, he brings an educator’s perspective to public policy—one grounded in data, collaboration, and the belief that education, infrastructure, and economic opportunity are deeply interconnected.

In addition to his public service, Jonathan has held leadership roles in crisis management with Walt Disney, Citibank, and Time Warner Cable. A lifelong educator, he continues to guest lecture at colleges across Texas, sharing his insights on legislative leadership, governance, and public policy.
